Ya'll better batton down the hatches down there in Tampa, looks like you got a Hellstorm headed your way. Of course it probably wont be a CAT 3 so it might not even be worth waking up for!

...that ain't no hurricane, it's just a frog-strangler with just enough breeze to give the trees a good clearing out of the Spanish moss...
Hatches? HATCHES?? WE DON'T NEED NO STINKING HATCHES!!

That's a good one Firefly. Hey Skotdee...got another oldie but goodie for you...if you don't stop being such a nincanpoop I'll send Fay your way!
Oh, wait, somebody beat me to the punch. It kinda sounds like a joke, ya know, but the damn thing now is projected to make landfall around Ft. Myers and come out the other side around Jax. Looks like we're in better shape in Tampa than both of ya'll. Skottdee you better have your battens out so your hatches don't, well...hatch.

Just got the call from the office, closed tomorrow! HURRICANE DAY! Wasnt there just a FL quote of the day about that?
Funny though, here I am telling you to batton down in Tampa, and the damn things turns and heads straight for us in North FL! Shouldn't be too bad though, supposed to remain a trop storm. We'll probably get some wind gusts and a TON of rain.
It will be all good though as long as it gets the hell out of here by Friday night's JC's concert out at Mojo Kitchen!

Yep, I think hurricanes ought to be like earthquakes. Just spring up in the ocean and crash on shore. There wouldn't be all this anxiety and anticipation. But...maybe that's just me.
I thought about that SD that you spoke too soon. I heard 2 feet of rain in Brevard and Volusia counties today. Ya'll best have your waders on.
Hey Jimbo, shit...you're safe. If the water rises just grab the family, jump on Tim's back and ride it there til it recedes. He can even give you a ride into town (Ummmmm...tell him not to dive though.)
Ya'll be careful. Just stay home (unless it's to run to the liquor store of course.)

Well thats the last time I talk smack about a storm hitting somewhere else in the state. She sat on us for two full days and DUMPED a sh*tload of wind and rain. Half of Jacksonville is flooded, trees are down everywhere, over 80,000 without power in Duval county alone, and this was just a damn tropical storm! The St. Johns straight up overflowed in several spots. Streets are closed. I measured 9 inches of rain in 3 days here at my house. My Dad's dock on the Trout River was COMPLETELY underwater today. There were white caps breaking in what is normally the back yard. It finally put the haul ass on, and good freekin riddance. I didn't even bother trying to go out in this to see the JC's tonight, been looking forward to that for weeks. Hell I don't even know if they're still playing. Don't even care anymore.
Sorry to vent folks, all I know is THANK GOD IT WAS THIS WEEKEND, and not next! Im curious though as to the condition of the Amphitheater. Saint Augustine beach caught HELL during all of this.

Good gawd! Wow, that's pretty incredible man. I knew you guys took a beating up there, but didn't know like that. We escaped unscathed. Been windy and cloudy all week, but not all too windy. And it didn't even start raining until late last night and we only got about an inch today. Whew! Hope ya'll are all okay.

yeah, amazingly I've kept power (and internet! very important!) the entire time. We've been damn lucky. Also a lot of the houses around my dad's are completely flooded, surrounded by water. His is up on higher ground so its dry. Again, counting our blessings. Can't say as much for the yard though, Im tellin ya, whitecaps. Folks skimboardin across front yards!
Melbourne got it real bad too, probably worse even than here.

I was just reading the local rag online there skot and geez you guys did really get it. I see where they had the Bridge of Lions closed. I take it THAT doesn't occur too often does it? Hope your lawn isn't St. Augustine. Heh, heh.
I hope the hotel I'm staying at next weekend is still there. I did see where the Boston concert tonight at the Amph was canceled but G Love is still on for Sunday, so I guess they survived. I'm wondering how the main parking lot is though...we may all have to park in the supplemental lots and hike or bus.
Also, I know of one fan (at least) that's got a reservation to camp at Anastasia. Do you know if campsites at Anastasia still exist?
Thanks bud. ---------- MofroFan1
