Seems some of us ordered the CD's from Merchlacky, some from Alligator. There's a thread going on the "Amazon has OB for $13.99 that some people might miss if they've ordered it already, so I copied the posts between me and TN_CRACKA and deleted them from there.

TN_CRACKA
I don't know if it is a generated thing or what, but I got an email last night from Alligator records saying my order has been shipped from the warehouse. If that's the case, I should get it by Friday or Saturday. Let me know when you get your's.

CLAY
Yeah, that's where we ordered from too. I thought for sure they'd have 200 orders by now, so I emailed one of my contacts at Alligator and heard back from him yesterday. He gave no indication of them being out and just said that JJ usually signs 200 or so and they'll be distributed on a first ordered/ first sent basis. I also asked him about the pre-sale orders, pointing out the problems last time. He said "To my knowledge CG pre-orders were sent out on street date but were sent at the media rate which can take 2-10 days. I believe that has been taken care of this year." It truly is not his department so he kindly directed me to someone who may be able to answer when the pre-orders are expected to ship. I'm awaiting/hoping for a reply today.

I just emailed with the one who's in charge of our social and entertainment calendar, aka my trophy wife, and she order the CD from merchlackey. She ordered it in June like the day they announced it. I dunno if Alligator had it on sale then...the link on Mofro's site too you to the lackeys. Damn...so I ain't gettin' no signed one? And why am I checking with Alligator to see when their gonna ship when we ordered from lackey? Oh...that was selfish as hell wasn't it? Of course I checked with Alligator for all ya'll!

Who ordered from whom and whose gotten word on when we expect what to arrive and why wherefore and whatever.

Well that would tend to suck. For me, not for you. We ordered ours on the day they were announced but ordered them off Mofro's site. I'm wondering if we should've waited and ordered from Alligator, but who knew? Oh well, I'm hoping ours is shipped too!

Ants, now you're in New York?? Damn, that was a cross country trip.

NY? Now your sources are a little off, smartie! Hey, you can just get your CD signed in person at one of the dozen shows you'll be attending over the next few months!

I'm in Louisiana.... Drove 2,000 miles in 5 days. This is the end of the trip -- for now.

As for the CD, I was more or less blowing off steam. Yeah, it'll be easy enough to get JJ to sign, I'm just confused--we ordered our CD on the day it was announced, right off of Mofro's site. I don't think that Alligator even had it up yet. Now, Alligator's informed people that theirs are being shipped, but us'ns that ordered from Merchlackey are left hanging (much less that ordering on the first day I would think we'd get a signed one.)

Would I like a little cheese with my whine?

Ants, as far as being in NY, I don't believe you. The stalker-by-proxy I hired followed you from Arizona to NY. If that ain't YOU there, then who the hell did he follow? I ain't gonna pay him.

Either that, or your cable provider re-routes your web connection through its servers in NY so your IP address shows up in my stats as being in NY. (That's how accurate that shit is.)

I ordered from Alligator a couple weeks ago, then got a couple emails saying there was a mistake in the order, so I called them up on Wednesday. I reordered it from the guy I talked to and he said I'd be getting a signed copy, so I'm pretty much a pig in s**t right about now. Of course, I'm twice as happy since I'm not like you lucky folk who can see him a dozen times out there (I'm in Southern California and he isn't playing anywhere close to me... :-(

Dig it...chefryno's in the house!

That is WAY cool ya'll that everybody's getting their CD!! And just to show you how well connected, dialed in, wired up, and big shit that I am...I ain't got nuthin.

Contacted Merchlackey today and they were literally packaging them up at that moment, some shipping today, the balance tomorrow and Wed.

Here's a lesson I learned--and this may piss off someone in management or at Merchlackey--but don't order from them if you can order straight from Alligator. The real pisser is that we ordered ours within hours of the announcement that it was on sale, and ordered it from the Mofro.net website. So anybody like me who did that you should have it by the end of this week. (And I wouldn't count on it being signed.)

NOTE to Firefly: I ain't positive, but I don't think you'll find it in stores until next Tues (26th)--that's the official release date. But hell you're in Chicago so if there's a place that'll have it, it'll be there!

Don't worry Kimberly, if you ordered it by last friday, I would bet you get it tommorrow, wednesday at the latest. That is unless you are outside of the United States. You'll be singing I Believe in Everything in no time. JJ really made one heck of a beautiful CD. He speaks The Truth.

Still no album Kimberly? It has to come today then, I would pretty much bet on it. It's just a couple of hours away. As everyone else on here is saying, it's worth the wait. I Believe is a track worth it's weight in gold, or as Clay describes it, is as beautiful as gold. It truely is.

I'm with you Clay...the minute I hear Orange Blossoms was available for "pre-order" I ordered it via mofro.net
figured I was keepin' it in the family by going through the website. Now to hear that if I waited, and went through another website, I'd have the official cd probably by now & even autographed!?

Oh well...I'm just acting spoiled. I've got enough neeto, cool as hell MOFRO shit around the house between Liz & I and our travels/adventure in MOFRO! We'll get our shit signed at the next show.

I signed up for RHAPSODY...so Liz & I are jammin' out in the living room. "The Devil You Know"...gives me chills for many different reasons.

Damn fine work gentleman...just when you think it can't get no better...WHAM!

Hey, what track is the sitar on? Hollis?

The sitar is on "On Fire," the voicebox on "I Believe." I think the sitar is on another song as well.

Postman just came and went. No CD for me. Curiously, I swear I could hear "On Fire" coming from the mail truck.

Hey Clay, I'm not sure if the Sitar is in On Fire? I can't hear it in there, it's a much higher pitched sound than anything on that song. It looks as though JJ does the bass for On Fire which is incredible as well, but the other song he does the bass on, Move It On, I'm pretty sure that is the Sitar in the backround throughout the song. And the talkbox is definitely on Higher You Climb and it's real subtle in I Believe on the solo, could be just using the distortion pedal on it as well, but sounds like the talk box if you listen real close. Higher You Climb solo is easy to tell. The only harmonica I've heard on the entire album is on Dew Drops, which he plays the same riffs as he does in his live Lochloosa solo. Very easy to learn, especially if you already can play the Lochloosa solo. Anybody else have any info on the Sitar or anything else that they can hear that we've all been missing?

DT~
I’ve only got to listen to one round of it so far-
It will be in heavy rotation this weekend.

First thoughts..
WYLF
Move it on
Dew Drops (love the violin/fiddle addition)
All I have heard through live recordings (GOD LOVE THE TAPERS!) and it is great hearing the nice additions to them in the studio versions.

Everything good is bad- I first heard when I downloaded the 2/7/08 Pour House show- loved it immediately. He sings it like he wrote that damn song- the studio version and the background girls add to it (Lordy I can’t wait until he adds some ladies to his live shows!)

The “new” ones
Orange Blossoms-Great title track- fun song-dig it

The Devil You Know- funk master- love this!

She Don't Know- This is the one I’ve had stuck in my head since hearing it last night- absolutely beautiful- haunting even

The Truth-This one will grow on me when I hear it live I bet- or maybe another couple rotations

On Fire- how could anyone not love this one?

Higher You Climb- cant wait to hear it live

Ybor City- swamp funky

I Believe In Everything- Yes DT a great, great beautiful, inspirational song

I believe Skam said in another thread- it doesn’t quite approach the live stuff.
I feel that way about a lot of my favorite bands- a great band is even greater live.
Can’t wait to hear these LIVE!
I am hoping I get a lot of the new stuff when I see them on 9/11.

Now that I have reviewed it “technically” let me just say........

JJ’s voice is so yummy :)

Now I'm starting to get a little frustrated. My trophy wife and I were just discussing our as yet to be delivered CD. I didn't know until she just told me that she paid for next day UPS when she ordered it.

She logically reasoned that if the "release date" was 8/26 and BSR was 8/30 she wanted to be sure we had it in time.(When CG came out we were still waiting on ours when they had a CD release party at Skipper's, so her reasoning was sound.)

When we contacted Merchlackey on Monday they said they were going out Tues and Wed. (Maybe Fay swept them away.)

I'm really not whining guys and gals; I got one from somebody and can get JJ to sign on Tuesday. But it just seems a little screwy.

I would think there are others out there who also ordered from the band's website and essentially paid double to get theirs quicker. Yet if they had gone to the label's website they would already have it in hand by now, have only paid parcel post (or free shipping) and have it signed no less. But we're all hanging in the cut waiting for the mailperson or UPS person.

I told her about my post earlier in the week telling people to go to Alligator to order their CD cause they'll get it quicker and it'll be autographed. She pointed out how fcked up it is to direct people AWAY from the band's website.

Maybe I am whining. Nah, I'm just speaking my mind, and maybe it's just me, but it seems like the house(s) could be in a little better order.

Our boys are the best. We all want to see them succeed and reach the levels they aspire to. (Wouldn't it be nice to see them on the Sunday afternoon schedule of a weekend fest instead of noon on Saturday??)

All of us are big fans and shit we'll forgive 'em for anything-no big deal. But if they're going to "move onto the Sunday schedule" they got to develop new fans too. I want to see fans happy as shit about the band, and the system behind the band, and everything to do with the band so they "get it" like we do.

Thanks for listening ya'll. Jump in, slap me around.

My copy got into Chicago at 2 am this morning but Mr. Postman failed to deliver it today. Guess I'm waiting until Monday after work. I have pretty much used up all my free plays on Rhapsody on my work and home PC....

Uhhhhhhhhh, ants I hate to tell you this, but I've been on your MySpace page and you have really short hair. If you started pulling it out you'd have none in no time.

Ours didn't come today. I can hear the UPS truck when it turns down our street. I kept all electronics off all day so I could hear him and run out to give him a big hug when he got here. (Big sigh.)

I feel for others that ordered from the Mofro site. I managed to get one, but many people are still waiting. Looks like they'll get it on Monday. One more day and they could run to the local store and buy it. Sure am glad we ordered on June 27th!! (Sure wish we'd have waited like 2 or 3 more weeks and ordered from Alligator and we'd have it a week ago!!!)

And yes ants, you are very right, if I had not managed to get a copy by now, hearing what everyone's saying and reading the reviews and blogs on it, I would have to be put into an induced coma until it arrived.
