I just wanted to express my appreciation for our kind Admin mofrofans1 (AKA Clay), and his wife, of course. You have introduced an awesome portal here for us die hard fans to get the scoop on the boys and the music. It's such a service to us all and I know it will just keep growing.

Also a thanks to all the users of the site/message board. Your knowledge is invaluable and gives me access to otherwise obscure resources and facts!!

The world is better off with JJ Grey & Mofro, and mofrofans.com!!

Well said and the feeling is mutual.

I'm blushing.

You guys are great. Ya'll gave me a big smile. But all of you are the ones to thank.

When I started this, and for the first 2 months, I really had no idea what would happen. I kept expectations low, but took it seriously.

When people started hitting the board and I saw the passion for the band that I have, and it kept growing more and more, I knew my hard work had paid off--not with money, of course, but with...well, Ansty put it better than I can. It's beyond camaraderie, it's a bond. We all come from various facets of life but all share something very close to us.

I've made acquaintances, and even friends, because of the site, and I never expected that to happen. Just how cool is that?

Of course JJ Grey & Mofro--each and every one of them--is why we're all here. Without them...geez, I don't want to imagine.

The site is taking off beyond my wildest dreams. This was the highest traffic week since the start of the site and July just set an all time record too. It doesn't hurt that a lot of people are searching for Orange Blossoms info. But still, the site is reaching more people, getting higher in the search engines under a variety of key phrases, yet is still in its infancy. The message board is approaching 70 members, and lots and lots of lurkers.

I've kept the traffic figures in my pocket before now, for a variety of reasons, and I'll still speak in ranges, but this is a good time to give ya'll a feel for how we're doing. In July, the site had well over 2,000 first time visitors. That's on top of over 750 returning visitors. The total number of hits (the different pages a visitor clicks around to once they reach the site) for the month was over 10,000. And it's going nowhere but up.

I said "how we're doing" because as I've said before, this isn't my site. I don't even call it "my site" to my wife (I call it the fansite.) That's what it is...the fan's site. To that end, I'll always encourage feedback and input--on the board or off--as to how we can make the site better, what it needs, what it doesn't need, what's cool, what sucks, etc. I've had some good feedback from some of you off the board and it's been invaluable, much less the frienships struck up along the way.

I also want to thank everyone for putting up with my brand of humor. I tend to be dry and sarcastic. It's my way of dealing with life. I try to make a laugh out of most anything because a) I like to laugh and b) if I didn't I'd most likely cry. (See?) So if anything ever comes across as smarmy or snobby or snarly, then yeah, it probably is. (See again??) Oh, and I HATE little smiley faces and shit...it would probably help if I didn't!

As for what's ahead, I've always more ideas than time. I feel truly guilty when I'm away from the site for very long. I've had a grueling schedule for the last 3 weeks and finally in the next week the work (and impending deadline) will be completed. I'll be able to get back to more updates, new stuff, etc. again on a more regular and frequent basis.

Thanks to a lot of you, it soothes my guilt somewhat when someone puts up a post with a link to something of interest. (I only kid you about scooping me, ants. You too DT.) That's one of the coolest things, IMHO, about all this is how we can share stuff, to some trivial while to others meaningful, about one of our most favorite (dare I say, for some, THE most favorite) subjects.

Thanks again antsyashley and Delerious Tyme for your thoughts and indulging me this little book I just wrote.

Oh, and I almost forgot to thank Swamp_Cracka. He got the ball rolling. He made the very first post on the board back on Feb 21.

Thanks everybody. This little swamp buggy is just getting warmed up.

I knew this after the first 60
days, but didn't want to let CLAY
get overly excited. In the past,it was the
LIST, then several other attemps,then
myspace which (Imho) has it's place in
the Music field & is required. But the
real MOFROITES are on the FANSITE.JUST
like the "GATORS, DON'T ever forget who
TIM-WHOOOOOO! IS, Well don't ever forget
CLAY-WHOOOOOOO! IS & his TIME comsuming
ability in making this site worth coming back
to for the MOFRO BAND & YOU THE FAN.
THANKS CLAY & YOUR OTHER 1/2

I have spoken to Clay offline a number of times and I'll say what goes without saying: This is truly a labor of love for him.

Clay is just as respectful of the feelings of the JJ & the band as he is of the users of this site. Sad to say, that isn’t always the case on the net.

Those two things alone are why this is such a great site for Mofro fans.

Delicious, peanut butter flavored kudos to you Clay for all your hard work. Sorry, I’m hungry.
