LAST NIGHT WAS AWESOME! GREAT SHOW IN A SWEATY, HOT BAR WITH GREAT TUNES AND ONE HOT SMOKIN' BAND!!! WENT WITH MY DAUGHTER AND SON AND IT WAS A GREAT TIME! I COUNTED 'BOUT 200 PEOPLE GIVE OR TAKE. AFTER OVER 30 YEARS OF ATTENDING GIGS, CONCERTS AND THE SUCH, THIS RATES AS ONE OF THE BEST!

Hey Coach Willie...thanks for jumping in on the board, welcome.

That is way cool. That's just the kind of band MOFRO is...go with your daughter and son and all get down to the gritty swamp funk. And 30 years of concert going huh? You got to be pushing my age (I'm 29) if you've been going that long. Attended my first "real" concert in 1976.

I will say that's some damned high praise to rate near the top, but I know exactly what you mean.

Was this your first JJG & M show? They're coming back ya'll's way pretty soon I think, this time with stuff off the new record. After 20+ times, I still can't ever see 'em enough!

Hey jump on in here anytime, alright?

That's okay...I feel old. Yep, '76--my junior year of high school. The Eagles-Hotel California tour w/Joe Walsh--and Jimmy Buffet preceded them, and some one hit wonders opened. The next year I saw Bob Seger, Clapton, Earth Wind & Fire, Rufus & Chaka Khan, The Eagles (again), Buffet (again), and shit, I killed too many brain cells to think of any more at the moment. Had all of J. Geils vinyls. I don't remember them coming around here back in those days, but, hell I remember I had their 8 tracks too!

I'll be 49 in a couple months, so actually I'm nipping at your heels.

Don't worry Skotdee, My wife was 5 in 1976. She's my second, 12 years younger'n me...that's why I call her 'my young trophy wife'. Sort of an inside joke, and now you're in on it.

Hell yes, love a good first concert thread.

RUSH - 1990 - Jacksonville Coliseum

Every kid needs this high school experience, "borrrowing" a car from your parents without telling them to go to a loud ass arena rock show, getting wasted for one of the first times, barely making it home and putting the car back without a scratch...

Drive by truckers sing about a situation just like this, "let there be rock", I always get a chuckle when I hear it.

Felt like something straight out of Dazed & Confused or something, ahhh the memories.
