According to the schedule on the Fox Theatre website, JJ and the guys will be playing at the Outdoor Stage on the Hill on August 7. Cut and paste the link below for the details.

It's now been confirmed that JJ & M will be playing in Boulder. Below is info about the show that I received today from Alligator Records:

"Just wanted to let you know about a cool JJ Grey & Mofro free show in Boulder, Colorado.

It's taking place on the hill, in the parking lot across from the Fox Theatre in Boulder, Colorado on Thursday, August 7th. They are slated to go on around 10:15 PM.

It's a radio industry showcase (the R&R Triple-A Summit) but the parking lot performances are free to the public. The Summit is a yearly gathering of adult alternative radio programmers from across the country.

JJ and the band will be busting out all new material from the forthcoming release, Orange Blossoms. These will probably be the first public performances of the songs from the new record. Because it's a radio convention with other bands in the parking lot and at the Fox, the set is going to be approximately 35 minutes in length.

Thanks for spreading the word to the Mofro fans in the Boulder area. Hopefully they can come on out and bring a few friends too."

WOW; here we are in Florida and we won't hear any new stuff until end of August. Super news for everyone in the Denver/Boulder area. I hope that a) they allow tapers, and b) somebody will be there to tape it!

A BIG THANK YOU to Alligator Records for keeping us up to date.

It's been a while, I think. I know they've been doing "Everything..." since last fall; UHollis can tell you when they've done Orange Blossoms. Here's a link to go to an archived set with Move It On on it: http://www.archive.org/details/mofro2006-11-11.splsd2.flac. UHollis taped it in 2006. I heard them do it at Skipper's last year, I think.

You can hear Dew Drops here from a show at the Bamboo Room from 2006. It was taped by, uh, um, UHollis (are you detecting a pattern here?) http://www.archive.org/details/mofro2006-08-10.akg481.flac

She Don't Know seemed to be on the setlist a lot in 2003. Here's a set that includes it. This was taped by...you guessed it, UHollis in 2003. http://www.archive.org/details/jjgreyandmofro2003-09-19.aud.flac16

I don't know nuthin about The Truth.

UHollis answered the question about those two those, much less all the questions in the early days of the message board. Yet more proof of UHollis being the man. Enjoy all, it's getting closer and closer everyday.

11:55 AM I think he did Orange Blossoms on the radio once during some of the CG radio spots. Maybe Asheville, i cant remember.
One Step is a song that they only played once in Portland, OR, last spring. my wife and i went up and did the San Fran thru Seattle leg of that tour.

The last i heard, which was in Jan, is that he had the whole new album ready to rock. but its a long process from ready to distribution.

I would expect a complete new album, though Dew Drops would be a nice addition. When Dew and SDK were in the rotation for those few months it was a great thing. Thankfully Dew made an appearance at the Aug 07 BBRoom shows.

Hey UHollis,

So you went on the west coast tour practically by going to the SF show and Portland. And you are currently going to shows in Tennessee and the upper south. And of course the Bamboo Room, Skippers, too many to list? Are you lucky enough to follow these guys religiously? Man I'm jealous. How bout the Rhythm Room in Phoenix, have you seen them there yet?

Oh, and how bout JJ putting Dew Drops and SDK on the new album? I remember asking you about them back in May, and felt the same way you did. Just was hoping and praying JJ might put them on the new album. I about jumped through my ceiling when I saw the Track Listing. Can't wait to see what all he did with those songs since he first wrote them, what 5 years ago? And what Dennis and Art will add to them? Gonna be kicking. If Danny O. has be raving about it like he has, we are in for a real treat. They already look up to speed with AC, they look like they are having a great time. The talent is there, the new material is there, they are flat out gonna bring it. "Yeah we climb, one step at a time!"

We needed some time off and flew up to SF for the weekend.
Went to the Fillmore with some FL Cracker transplants.
Rented a car and rove all the way up to Bellingham WA.
Caught a few shows along the way.
I didn't tape a single show that run, so i could spend more time with the wife and hang.

In Portland, they played The Truth, which, JJ called One Step Closer To The Truth at that time.

The only reason I am gonna be in Nashville is for a shower for my wife, and to see my moms. So we just got lucky that they announced a show while we were gonna be there. Got my tix today for 3rd an Lind is a sit down tables type of club much like the Bamboo Room.

we used to bounce around FL for the shows, but have really tapered off in past few years. I've seen 'em in FL, MA, NY, CA, OR. and soon TN. The Dude is one who has romped the south chucking back and forth to shows.

JJ knows we all love DD and SDK. I think he had a mission with Country Ghetto and all.

And trust me, I am sooooo NOT the man. Peace.

OB was played on a WWOZ show in New Orleans. I 'might' have a tape of it somewhere.. JJ did it on piano solo. It was just JJ solo for the whole airing. It was in Oct around Voodoo Fest.

DAAAAAANNNYYYYYY!! You're just gonna tease us with THAT!?? We're all trying to guess what they're gonna play, you come on the board, and once again you tease us until we're ready to pop. I know you must know SOMETHING more you can contribute to this topic. Danny, we all love ya; we can't live with ya, can't live without ya...

Hey y'all. Had no idea this was being discussed on this forum when I posted the track yesterday. Great song. I was so thrilled to see the new cover and see that they named the record after it.

Clay and I have had some back and forth today about the best way to get the complete broadcast up. I also emailed archive but haven't heard back yet on their policy concerning radio broadcasts.

A note about the broadcast: I recorded off of a web stream, but there was quite a bit of audible noise at various times throughout the show. Most of the songs the noise stays relatively low but it will come in and out during interview segments and a few songs. This was from the original broadcast. That said, it does nothing to detract from the show for me. JJ spent a good deal of time hanging out and they practically spent as much time sharing stories as JJ did playing songs. It's a fun listen with some really nice, intimate performances.

Ill try to get it up and out soon, either on archive or elsewhere.

Still haven't heard back from a site op at Archive, but doing a search in the Live Music Archive for "radio" pulls up several radio broadcasts. The FAQ explicitly says XM and Sirius are not allowed, however it appears terrestrial radio is fine. I'm planning on upping the broadcast tonight.

if the Radio spot is JJ solo, then you can't put it up in the JJ Grey and MOFRO section(and there is no other section for that stuff). so it would have to go out via bt, or trades. only if its the whole band, and then YES, you can put it up.

Man Danny, you're killing us. Talking the album up like it's gonna send us straight to musical heaven. And well, I don't doubt it one bit!!! I've listened to that stream, btw thank you soundbetter for the link, about 20 times now and can't get it out of my head. You can tell that JJ was a little rough around the edges playing it but the potential with that song is unreal. Can't wait to hear the album version. Can't wait to hear the album, can't wait for the Rhythm Room September 10th, my tickets are sitting on my desk begging be torn in half for entry, and I've already ordered the album through the site. I know it's July, but I still check my mailbox everyday as if it were to be there each time. On Fire I have a feeling is an understatement. The guys must be anxious as hell to play the new tracks and flat out bring it for the fall tour. I can smell the Orange Blossoms all the way out here in Arizona....

Hey D.T. I am living in Phx for the summer and wish I was still going to be here for the 9/10 show at RR. That would be the best b-day gift (turning 30 on 9/11)!! Too bad, I will be back in Louisiana at that time. I am hoping to make it to the 9/6 show in Fayetteville. Have a great time at the show! I can relate to the anticipation for the new album and the show!

I've been listening to the live recordings of some of the tracks from the new album and I am almost in tears with glee. This is like crack for the ears!!

Last night I saw Big Pete Pearson at the Rhythm Room in Phoenix. While there I saw the Mofro/Orange Blossoms poster advertising their show on 9/10. What a cool venue and cool crowd.
