Ho Cake Footsteps -> Turpentine Lochloosa Jookhouse I've Been Loving You Too Long By My Side War The Sun Is Shining Down
I've only been listening to the boys since January when I bought Country Ghetto on a whim. I now have all 3 studio albums and about 20 downloaded shows - however, since I live out here in Cali this was my first live experience. To set the scene - if you're facing the boys on stage and turn directly around, you see the beach and ocean -it's an awesome, beautiful setting for a show. It seemed most of the crowd was seeing them for the first time, though I did hear a lot of "these guys kick ass" mumblings. Ho Cake really got things going with an awesome jam. Darryl sounded great on Foot/Turp (he's so smooth up there) and JJ sipped his whiskey (I assume that wasn't water)during the whole show. Love how JJ went from guitar to harp to keys and back on Lochloosa. Short show (only an hour) but they made the most of it. Can't wait for the new album.....
Anybody going to any of the shows in New York, Kansas or Colorado in the next couple weeks? We want NEWS! Or just give us the lowdown on the show, set list, etc.
Don't forget to take pics and enter the photo contest too! ---------- MofroFan1
Gonna try to hit up the July 4 show in Louisville, if my damn job don't get in the way. I've never seen JJ at an outdoor venue. That has to be the best way to see them. Also Clay, if I catch a Florida show, which one is the best one to see? Langerado? St. Augustine? I will probably plan my vacation around it.
Hey all. I have to admit that I found out about Mofro quite by mistake. A few of my buddies and I decided to go to Mountain Jam at Hunter Mountain from May 30, 2008 to June 1, 2008. Well, since we were going to go I decided to look up some of the bands I hadn't heard of. I immediately loved Mofro's sound and was really looking forward to seeing them.
The show was absolutely fantastic. Unfortunately I don't think the crowd that was there knew all that much about these guys because the turnout was kind of small but J.J. and the boys still rocked it out. It had been kind of overcast that day and when they started to play "The Sun Is Shining Down" the clouds parted and it was sunny as could be.
Needless to say I am now a big J.J. Grey & Mofro fan and I'm planning on driving 3.5 hours to see them up in South Burlington, VT in July.
Hi my name is ute and i live on fort myers beach,fl.my friend went to a mofro show at skippers 2 1/2 yrs ago ,she ask me If I wanted to go and I said;you think I will like the band? well the rest is history.I've seen them all over florida and at festivals in kansas and west virginia, coloroado and new orleans.

Just like I thought, my 8-5 job is getting in the way of me going to Louisville for the 4th. However, I am going to St. Louis in July to catch that show. Mofro and a Budweiser tour, can you think of a better weekend? If anyone has any suggestions for a hotel let me know.
