I was just wondering if at any Mofro shows there has been a woman sing on stage for a song. It would have been in Jacksonville or possibly Orlando. It is a long story, but I will explain later if necessary. If not than call me crazy, but I heard a rumor that someone close to me sang on stage.. could be completely false. Please let me know if you have heard anything.

Thanks in advance!

Hey Stinkpotato...welcome to the board.

Got us stumped on your question. When was it? The only Orlando show that I've not been to in two years was at House of Blues in Feb '07. But in researching that show, I can't find where a woman singer came on stage.

Sharon Jones (of Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings) joined them onstage in Ft. Lauderdale at the late night Langerado show in March '07.

I was at all 4 shows in Jax for New Year's in December...no woman there.

I was at Blackwater Sol Revue in St. Aug, Labor Day last year...same.

In '06, I only caught the New Year's Eve show in Jax; there were shows on each of the 2 previous nights, not sure about those...but I can find out.

I've been to all the Skipper's shows here in Tampa this year and last; missed the '06 shows (dammit!)

That's all I can tell you. But if you've got a date--even the year--I'll dig further for you.

Thanks again for signing up--tell your Mofro friends!

P.S. No explanation necessary; and nah, I don't think you're crazy. You're a Mofro fan...explanation enough. Shit, I started this fansite--that's only a labor of love, not money--so if anybody's crazy it's me!

If you go onto the LMA and look for a show from Denver, I think last Spring on the Country Ghetto tour. There are the two ladies doing background vocals. I wanna say there are some shows also from NOLA where Teresa Anderson sat in on vocals.

JJ has always wanted to take backup singers on the road.

Indeed...and of course he's got some great back up on the CG album.

He often brings up local talent; I've downloaded a killer show from...a club in L.A. I can't remember the name right now... where a woman named Gina comes up and sings with him during an encore of "Gotta Know." She's awesome. So stinkpotato's question is very viable. (That would be a GREAT song to have on the upcoming new album!)

But, stinkpotato thinks it was in either O-town or Jax. I'm stumped on those...you too??

Gina is a member of the listserv, which is still in existence and folks are able to subscribe to off the homepage. Its been around pretty much since day one. Gina has pipes!

Yes she does have pipes! And when she's talking to JJ, her voice makes me melt...it's like, sexy and cute at the same time. I'm kind of reluctant to see her pic cause I have this absolute perfect vision of what she looks like, and I kinda don't wanna spoil it.

That being said, I can (sort of) build a website, I can clean a fish, but I don't know nuthin bout birthin' no babies and I don't know nuthing bout no listserv.

Might you enlighten me as to how to navigate there? I'd love to check out her website, but don't know anything but her first name and she's a singer in L.A. (and something tells me that in L.A., there's more than one female singer named Gina.)

Thanks man!
