Even though I'm real bummed that the Allman Bros had to cancel, I'm still excited about Wanee. Some killer bands on the line, even without AB. It's my first time there. Anybody got any tips...parking, vendors, bathrooms, anything that a couple of Wanee virgins would want to know?
It is a bummer that Greg is so sick, but apparently he is on the mend. The Wanee will still be stellar as always. I have been fortunate to go every year since its inception. Some words of advice: get there early on Thursday to get a good campsite, if you don't have one reserved. The park fills up quick. The shitters get pretty bad towards the end of the weekend. Its a different production company than who does the Spring and Magfest, and they don't quite keep up the bathrooms like they do for the other fests. Definitely want to have some butt ribbon on you at all times. The vendors are usually pretty good, expensive as hell, but a lot of cool shit and good food. Bring the bug spray this year because of the rain we've been getting. And dont forget the rain gear as well. Oh and watch out for those DAMN DIRTY HIPPIES running around!!!!
Thanks for the word up, brother. Can't wait to get going. Got to wait on the wife to get off work today though. We had wondered about the shitters. Being as I got a bad back, and a stomach that doesn't always like me in the morning, we decided a couple weeks ago to forego the camping this year and get a room (oh, and we have no camping equip either.) Found cheap room in Jasper (Live Oak all booked.)
Interesting that a diff management company does this one, huh? I'm psyched anyway...haven't been to an outdoor music festival (excluding the Blackwater Sol Revue last year) in forever. (Been to over 20 Mofro concerts in the past 18 months though!)
DIRTY HIPPIES!!? I was born in '59. Am I too young to qualify? If so, might I add that some of my best friends are DAMN DIRTY HIPPIES so I'll sure as shit feel right at home.
See you there! ---------- MofroFan1

It’s 2025 and my expenses to keep this site up are just over $800/yr. If you want to help offset my expenses to keep this site up please consider pitching in a buck or 2. Much obliged!
