There a new update as of 4/20/08 under the Tour News link on the latest info on the new CD.
JJ told me in Lake Worth (after their kick-motherfcking ass 3rd night in a row at the Bamboo Room in early Jan '08) that he's got a new studio all set up and will be working on a new album this year. He said they're gonna start after they get back from Australia. (I guess that's why they don't have any tour dates on their calendar after Australia.)

First of all, UHollis, welcome to the board. Good to see you on here being that even though I don't know exactly who you are, but from the Archive and my extensive research of JJ and the boys, I know you have quite the in with the band. Hey Clay, whatever this guy talks about I can vouch that if he isn't right on, he will be as close as you can get with whatever he passes on. As for what he is talking about, new song titles for the album. I've heard through the great vine about Orange Blossom, but not about the other listed. Thanks UHollis for the update. Do you know if JJ is going for all new songs from scratch or any chance he is looking back to She Don't Know/Dew Drops for a few slots on the album like he did with Footsteps and others on Country Ghetto where he had been playing them live for quite a while before putting them on vinyl? Also, please tell me he has Art and Dennis in mind to record with him on this one unlike Country Ghetto? CG is awesome, but those two just seem to me to add something that is just amazing and why not get that on the record? Thanks again UHollis, much appreciated.
Hey Clay, this site is gonna overtake thier MySpace page before too long as the place to know, see, and be everything that is Mofro. I hope you had high expectations, because I have a feeling they will soon be easily met if they haven't been already. Good job.

I think he did Orange Blossoms on the radio once during some of the CG radio spots. Maybe Asheville, i cant remember.
One Step is a song that they only played once in Portland, OR, last spring. my wife and i went up and did the San Fran thru Seattle leg of that tour.
The last i heard, which was in Jan, is that he had the whole new album ready to rock. but its a long process from ready to distribution.
I would expect a complete new album, though Dew Drops would be a nice addition. When Dew and SDK were in the rotation for those few months it was a great thing. Thankfully Dew made an appearance at the Aug 07 BBRoom shows.

Thanks for the clarifications guys. Just heard yesterday that the new album just got done being mixed.
Yeah, DT, I figured out a little while back that UHollis is the man. We're lucky to have him on the board.
Good stuff about the new album/songs.
Dennis and Art are on the new record, BTW...I agree with your comments about them 100%.

Just heard yesterday that the new record has just been mixed. "Fall" is still as good as it gets for a release date so far. Anybody got more of a date nailed down? From a REPUTABLE SOURCE? We're peeing in our pants out here wanting to know more.

"Word on the street" is that the master recording and artwork for the new CD is headed off to Alligator Records sometime in the next 1 to 4 weeks. (I've actually got it more nailed down than that, but don't want to piss off a source, so I gave ya'll a broad range.)
Anybody know how long it takes to get a record completed from that point?

This is great news!! Can't wait for the new album! I'll be experiencing MOFRO live for the first time in Louisville, Kentucky on July 4th at the Waterfront Independence Festival and I cannot wait!!
