OK ... Am I nuts????????? But seriously ... How many times does a person have to listen to a song over & over & over & over again before they're considered nuts???? I have had my BLACKWATER CD in my truck CD player since I came back from Winthrop ... I have it on repeat for "Brighter Days" ... I just can't get enough of that song ... sorry but just had to share with you all ...

Only 13 more days until I get to see JJ Greay & Mofro again in Seattle .... Good Lord I have not been this hooked on music in years .... Got JJ GREY & Mofro?????

............. I SURE DO ....... yahoo 8-) .............

I've got a fever.........

:o)

no you are not nuts, I have a CD that I made with JUST different versions of "Brighter Days" & I listen to that over and over and over and over...well, you get what I am a sayin.

I sure wish I could say 13 more days, or like Kimberleah & DT, 21 more days..........but my time will come, I just don't know when it is, so I will patiently wait and get my (as Giggles would say) my FRO-fix via DVDs and CDs..........

From the moment I heard the first strains of Brighter Days I have been completely enthralled by this song. JJ's voice is so wrought with emotion, so haunting and compelling that the listener can't help but be drawn into the visceral vortex that he creates, his voice and narrative vacillates between hope and despair. The music and words just wrap around you like the silken threads of a cocoon, enveloping you in the mood and moment of the song.

Lately I have been COMPLETELY obsessed with the acoustic version of Brighter Days, I find myself watching the youtube clip from SSSJ multiple times a day and being damn near moved to tears. I consider this song an opus: a profound and moving musical composition!

and jjhitsmysoul, I didn't mean to ignore your invitation of someday us all getting together, that was too kind of you to suggest that!! When, and I say when the boys come to the Orange Peel, Imma gonna extned my invitation to have a gathering of these fine folks from the board in my backyard with BBQ and in the backround of course would be the music of M*O*F*R*O playing from every speaker I have.......someday...

...but what kind of life would we be leading if we didn't have dreams?....

...As I was laying in my pool on this warm afternoon, and as the sun was shining down, I found myself begining to sing the first verse of "Brighter Days"...and it was then, that I realized - I was indeed experiencing a 'brighter day' - had a few wonderful moments that followed my epiphany...........I enjoyed the warmth of the sun as I lay in the cool water........ I could hear a couple of Carolina Wrens conversing with one another.....living in the moment - Priceless.

Brighter Daaaays.........where you going.....

nnaaaa nnnnaaa nnaaaa nnnnnaaaa naaaaa

Here's another Brighter Days, this one from the recent Gathering of the Vibes. What's great about watching this is the camera operator panned around the audience several times...you can see the love in the smiling eyes and faces.

Ahh, Clay, ya done gone and posted the oldest rarest Mofro out there. I am pretty sure these two are the earliest recordings, both Video and Sound of anything Mofro. I love the original version of Lochloosa, even though it doesn't have any harp, just sounds raw and very powerful.

"where the trees meet the sky"

"I pray the blackwater rolls, from a Florida Bay, all the way, to Lochloosa, I know!!!!!!!!!"
