I am genuinely awed by Almira's talent, she is a true child prodigy. To be able to so poignantly capture the sentiment of JJ's song all while personalizing the lyrics to her home is downright genius......I wonder how her audition for America's Got Talent went? She is entirely too good for that show, but I wish her success in all of her endeavors! ---------- The only thing I knew how to do Was to keep on keepin' on like a bird that flew, Tangled up in blue
Danny forwarded the latest (and sent the pic below.) Almira thinks she made the next round of 'American's Got Talent.' They filmed her for 3 hours and had her read what JJ wrote on her guitar on camera.

I am glad to hear that the producers of AGT recognized Almira's incredible talent; a lot of times they go for fluff and marketablity in a performer rather than substance and soul. I have to admit that if she makes the show, I will definitely be watching, (even though it means suffering through David Hasselhoff) just to see her shine!
I was trying my damnedest to read what was written on her guitar, but I'm getting old and all I did was give myself a headache from squinting so hard!

I tried to read what JJ wrote on Almira's guitar, even tried blowing it up 500%, just got blurry. Any good eyes out there that can read it? ---------- "Lord feel that vibe, Lord feel that vibe....."
Hey guys! Thanks for all the kind words about me. I'm Almira and I'm a big JJ Grey & Mofro fan myself. It was a priceless experience to get to know JJ Grey closely and I hung out with him in Bowling Green and talked about music, snakes, and a lot more. More importantly, I got my guitar signed by him.
Aw..Almira- I was hoping & thought you or your parents might find this place and see everyone’s thoughts on you. You are a very special young girl. If you don’t mind me asking- what did JJ write on your guitar?

Hello Almira! I am quite literally blown away by your talent. When I watched this video, I was moved to the core of my being by your rendition of Appalachia. To be able to so thoroughly touch your listening audience is a talent beyond measure, and I am so thankful that you had the opportunity to share it with the MOFRO community. I have no doubt that in the very near very future you will be sharing your art with the whole world=) Though I am sure you won't need it, I wish you luck with America's Got Talent!!
Can you share a little of your background with us? For instance, how long have you been playing the guitar, do you write your own music, who introduced you to the music of JJ Grey....etc? ---------- The only thing I knew how to do Was to keep on keepin' on like a bird that flew, Tangled up in blue
I'm from Lexington,KY. My dad's originally from KY and my mom is from Indonesia (that makes me a mut HA!). I've been playing guitar before my feet could reach the ground when I sat on a chair, so for about 5 years at least. Yes, I do write my own music. I'm recording an album right now. I found out about JJ 3 years ago I guess from the Jeff Corwin Show (I love to study wildlife). Since then, I'd been a BIG fan of JJ's and I love to listen to his songs everyday.
Oh! you want to know what JJ wrote on my guitar?! OK, I'll send a closer picture of my guitar.
Hi Almira, you are indeed a talented little lady! Keep us informed about your album, would love to hear it. Good luck with the AGT contest. ---------- "Lord feel that vibe, Lord feel that vibe....."
